Open Beta Diaries: Now it’s Your Turn

Hey folks, you probably already have noticed that last week, we had our final installment of the closed beta diary. We hope that we have given all of those a good impression of Forge of Empires, who did not have the chance of playing the closed beta. But luckily, as the open beta started last week, all of you have the chance of playing the game now. Therefore, we are planning an open beta diary and now it’s your turn! Closed Beta Diary: Time To Say Goodbye

Hey folks, unfortunately today it’s time for me to say goodbye. This is going to be my last closed beta diary, as the open beta of Forge of Empires started this week and finally all of you can also play the game. We will of course keep you updated with news and feature descriptions on this blog, but in a slightly different form. Continue reading Closed Beta Diary: Time To Say Goodbye

Closed Beta Diary: The Ups and Downs of Progressing Through the Ages

Today my whole city was in a rebuilding mode. New production buildings needed to be established. Older buildings had to be torn down, making room for newer ones. Small houses were replaced by more sophisticated cottages, increasing the total amount of my people significantly. Now my whole city shines like new and I can sense a spirit of optimism around every corner. But of course there are always to sides of the same coin. Continue reading Closed Beta Diary: The Ups and Downs of Progressing Through the Ages

Closed Beta Diary: Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day

Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is my city. The last couple of days I noticed that developing it from scratch does not come without problems. Every time I think I am over the hump, suddenly new ones appear and need to be solved, thus forcing me to rearrange my priorities constantly.  Continue reading Closed Beta Diary: Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day

Forge of Empires Opens Doors to All in Open Beta

Finally! Today the English version of Forge of Empires went into open beta! There are no beta keys required for access any more, everyone can access the game. As we already said over the course of the last weeks: Thanks to everybody who participated in the exclusive preview and closed beta of the game, you’ve been a tremendous help. We really appreciate your support! Continue reading Forge of Empires Opens Doors to All in Open Beta

Closed Beta Diary: Back to Full Strength

Over the last couple of days I wasn’t much of a threat to my neighbors. Expending and conquering was not on my mind, but rather securing my existing territory. As I had to rebuild my army, I was taking up a position of all-round defence. Despite looking idle from the outside, there was a lot going on in my city. Busy as ants, my people were running around to finish all their tasks. Continue reading Closed Beta Diary: Back to Full Strength

People Celebrating in the Streets: Forge of Empires goes Open Beta!

Some of you might have already heard: next Tuesday, we’ll finally go into open beta with Forge of Empires, two days later, on Thursday, the German Language version will start. We call it open beta still, because we’re not completely finished with the things we want to put in the “full” game when we announce it as a “finished” product, a 1.0 version (even though it will receive updates, new features etc. even from that point on, for years to come!). But it also means that we are confident enough about the game to present it to a wider audience, and to gather input for the necessary fine-tuning on a larger scale. Continue reading People Celebrating in the Streets: Forge of Empires goes Open Beta!

Server Down – And Up Again!

Unfortunately, the Forge of Empires servers experienced some problems over night and are currently down. We will solve this problem as soon as possible and will keep you in the loop about any updates.

Be assured that your accounts were not stolen and they will work again very soon. As said, we will keep you in the loop about everything.

You might have noticed: The game is up and running smoothly again. It was just some minor technical issue with our servers that was fortunately quickly fixed. We’re sorry for your inconveniences!

Closed Beta Diary: I Want You

Even today I still felt the effects of yesterday’s crushing defeat in the PvP tournament. As my whole army was destroyed in almost an instance, all my plans became obsolete. Visiting my city in the morning, I had to rearrange my list of priorities, making rebuilding my army the number one priority. Besides of that, I needed more advanced troops as well! Continue reading Closed Beta Diary: I Want You

Closed Beta Diary: No Battle, No Cry

What a crushing defeat! My first battle in the PvP tower was a total embarrassment – I did not stand a chance at all. Of course in retrospective, one could say that it was not very smart of me to mainly use long range units in my army. But before the battle started, I still was sure that I would leave the battlefield victorious. That changed almost instantly when the battle began.
