Some of you have been waiting for it, and it is finally coming! Your Forge of Empires teams are working hard to cook up a wiki worthy of the name. Here are 10 questions that you might ask yourself:
What is the point of having a wiki?
You have probably noticed that it is not easy for a novice player to find their needed information amongst the many guides that can be found in the Forge of Empires forums. The wiki will have the merit of centralizing all information and guides related to the game. The navigation will be simplified through the various categories and links which will allow you to quickly find specific information.
Whenever it comes to international games, character portraits tend to top the list of player’s additional desires; after gameplay must-haves of course. So with the large amount of portraits in the game, what influences them? While the game is quite diverse there is a simple explanation to the game’s look: settings and team representation.
Do you miss the good old days of submitting your opinions through comment sections or forums? The days were you wondered whether anyone apart from your fellow commentators read them. We also wondered, which is why we have started using periscope and Twitch as a way to get your feedback.
Whether you are a newbie or an experienced player, the best thing about following a game is watching it evolve. These changes can range from new features to new eras which add new dimensions to the game. Since its start in 2012 Forge of Empires has added many different aspects but as a Forge player, do you know them all?
We know not everyone can be a Forge know-it-all, so we put together this infographic to share some of our favorite facts.
We hope you enjoy them and if you have anything you want to know specifically about the game, let us know in the comment section. We will make sure to bring it to you next week.
What a run onto our Forge of Empires Forum and the Facebook-page. Recently we asked you to send us suggestions for Great Buildings in the next Age of Forge of Empires. Thousands of names and pictures were sent to us, and we were really amazed by your dedication. After looking through your ideas, our team had the difficult task of choosing six buildings out of the mass of great suggestions. After all, we wanted you to be the ones that decide on which buildings will make it into the game in the end. Hours of discussions followed, but in the end we decided to put those buildings up for the vote:
Royal Holloway, University of London
Château Frontenac, Québec
Teatro Amazonas, Manaus
Alcatraz, San Francisco
Monumento Vittorio Emanuele II, Rom
In our Facebook-gallery you were able to give us your vote for the final decision. And we did not expect what happened then: in a short amount of time, almost 10.000 votes had been cast, and every single building was subject to heated arguments. Thanks a lot to everyone who participated. It’s always great to have a community that’s so passionate about our game and it’s future development. And now I have the honor of presenting the victorious buildings:
with roughly 2400 votes, our winner is the marvellous Château Frontenac from Quebec!
Runner-up with 1.800 votes is the world-famous Alcatraz from San Francisco!
Thanks again to everyone who participated, we appreciate your interest in and passion for Forge of Empires and to the Wiki-Users Bernard Gagnon and David Corby for making the pictures available under the Creative Commons License!
Forge of Empires takes you on a journey through the Ages. Starting with a primitive settlement in the Stone Age, your city evolves through the dark middles ages to a huge settlement in the industrial age. Each era, its own style and architecture are being visualized in an especially impressive way by the magnificent Great Buildings. For the new age we’re planning, our developers had a great idea: We no longer want to decide on our own which Buildings will be included in the game. We want you to be involved in this process. Therefore you have the chance to help us choosing a new Great Building by making a suggestion in the Forge of Empires forum. The first one who suggests the winning buildings will win the prestige of seeing their names added to Forge of Empires, in the buildings’ description!
As soon as the contest is over, we’ll pick a handful of suggestions and you can vote for your favorite building to be included in the game.
This is how you do it: First, you have to register in the forum. Once you’ve registered, you can post your suggestion in the contest thread. These are the rules: Your suggestion must have been built between 1880 and 1930. Its only allowed to entry one suggestion per person. Do not repeat previous suggestions. Only the first entry for a suggested structure will be valid. You can look forward to great prizes:
If you are the first person from all game countries to suggest the chosen Great Building your name will be immortalized in Forge of Empires, in the Great Building’s description!
If you are the first person in the national contest who suggested the winning buildings, you will gain a Full set of blueprints for a Great building of their choice, 3000 Diamonds and
20 of each Good from player’s current Age.
We will give 1000 Diamonds and two Blueprints of the player’s choice to ten players who had great suggestions that we didn’t choose.
But be quick: The event ends on the 25th of March. Good Luck!
