This brand new addition will take Expeditions to another level, and – for the first time in Forge of Empires history – will allow for cross world competition! Compete against 3-6 other, similar-sized guilds and gain extra Guild Power bonuses! The winning guild gets +25%, the 2nd one gets +15% and the 3rd guild will be rewarded with +10%.
Some of you have been waiting for it, and it is finally coming! Your Forge of Empires teams are working hard to cook up a wiki worthy of the name. Here are 10 questions that you might ask yourself:
What is the point of having a wiki?
You have probably noticed that it is not easy for a novice player to find their needed information amongst the many guides that can be found in the Forge of Empires forums. The wiki will have the merit of centralizing all information and guides related to the game. The navigation will be simplified through the various categories and links which will allow you to quickly find specific information.
It is a particularly hot day in this humid, smelly jungle. Your party has been on their feet for 2 whole days now but you just know that you are getting closer. You can feel the excitement rushing to your head as you find another relic. It is overgrown with moss and half buried in the dense mass of leaves and rotting twigs that cover the ground of this tropical forest. It is old, very old and you have no doubt that it is a piece of the ancient civilization you are looking for. As you start removing the moss from the relic, your expedition leader becomes tense. He raises his hand and signals the whole party to be quiet and take cover. They are coming. Continue reading Guild Expeditions – Welcome to the Jungle→

Daniel, the product manager of Forge of Empires presents the new iPad version on a special video:

Your city is bursting at the seams? You have no idea where to place your latest buildings? Then look forward to version 1.25! Our developers have recognized that many players need more space and expanded the city map. Where you could once only imagine a little river, you can now see beautiful banks and vivid vegetation. With the reworked city surroundings, your are now able to place more expansions and have therefore more possibilities to build your city of dreams.
But a larger city involves also some technical issues: Especially modern cities with lots of fabrics and smoking buildings are pretty hardware hungry. To solve this problem we introduced a new option: The hardware acceleration feature. The Hardware acceleration feature utilizes your graphics card to display your city, instead of your processor. This should result in a performance boost on most modern machines.
Anyway, i’m looking forward to the new space and I’m already thinking of how to use it properly.
Forge of Empires just released its biggest update since it went online 2 years ago. With Guilds vs. Guilds, InnoGames introduced the long awaited multiplayer feature into the online game. From now on, you will have the chance to conquer several provinces and even an entire continent with your allied guild members. But beware: This time, you will not only have to mess with NPCs, but also with human opponents. In a video, our Game Designers Peer and Anwar sum up and explain the new feature.
So far, the main Features in Forge of Empires were the city-building and the single-player campaign. Those will still remain the core of the game. But we constantly received feedback asking for a better way to compete with other players. Aside from that, we wanted to strengthen cooperative multiplayer as well. With Guilds vs Guilds we found a way to achieve both at the same time. Your goal as a guild will be to conquer provinces from NPC-enemies and other guilds and defending them against your foes. Aside from lots of armies, guild also needs rare resources to successfully conquer a province.
Therefore, peaceful traders are as crucial to your guilds’ success as aggressive warmongers. From the Iron Age on, all of the game’s Ages are present on the Map, so that players can participate and support their guild, regardless of their single-player process. Being successful grants your guild numerous rewards, for example recruitment- or research-boosts. So, what are you waiting for? Join or found a guild – a new world is ready to be discovered.
Warfare, lots of players and an ever-changing balance of power – you will find all that and much more in our brand new guild vs. guild feature which is being worked on right now. A first teaser of the upcoming feature is now online and playable on our beta server. There you can see firsthand what will be playable on all servers soon.
Entering the guild vs. guild mode is very simple: After a click on the guild button, you will see a special continent map. This map is divided into several provinces. In this overview you can get information about sectors, see the results of recent events and battles, place defenses – form then on you will are able to lay siege to a sector and launch attacks on them, along with your guild members. If your guild is ready to attack, you can deploy a siege army in the army management screen.
After you have gained control of a sector, the army you used as a siege army now becomes the sector’s first defending army. After a while you and your guild will be able to gain control of more and more provinces to raise your guild level! You need more information? Check out the user guide.
The epic battle for provinces has already begun on the beta server, and I’m really looking forward to fight you all!
