Closed Beta Diary: No Battle, No Cry

What a crushing defeat! My first battle in the PvP tower was a total embarrassment – I did not stand a chance at all. Of course in retrospective, one could say that it was not very smart of me to mainly use long range units in my army. But before the battle started, I still was sure that I would leave the battlefield victorious. That changed almost instantly when the battle began.

My army of five slingers and one spearfighter faced an army of seven short range experts: three soldiers and four spearfighters. In an instant, I realized that I would have no chance. As I am not a coward, I decided I would not retreat and at least give it a try. But my opponent was very clever, as his troops tried to stay out of the range of my slingers. Then all of a sudden they sprinted forward engaging my slingers in close combat. Of course my slingers did not stand a chance. One by one they were overpowered and thrown onto the dusty ground. After only two minutes the battle was over, leaving me with no units left. So right now I have to rebuild my entire army to protect my city from intruders. If you are an optimist you could at least say that a positive thing about my first PvP adventure is that I am not ranked as last. But of course, this is only a weak consolation.
