More and more players are testing the Exclusive Preview of Forge of Empires, and we are very enthused about it, especially about the great and very thorough feedback we get in the game’s forum. For all those still waiting for a key: don’t worry, there will still be a Closed Beta for the game.
Why even split these two periods, you say? Just call it Closed Beta now and open the game up for more players? Well, for us, it doesn’t work that way. Our developers have a very clear vision about the playability and the features they wish to be in the official 1.0 version of the game, same goes for the Alpha and Beta Versions. The Exclusive Preview is a great way for us to collect initial feedback about the game. Still, we wouldn’t have started it, if we hadn’t thought that it would be at least playable in technical as well as in gameplay terms – that means, it is fun to play, and already projects a feeling of how the finished game will feel.
Both of those things we think we are able to provide with this pre-beta build. But there is still a lot more to come: Let us give you a quick outlook of the features that are still waiting beyond the horizon:
• Great Buildings: You and your friends will be able to create some of the most legendary buildings in history together. Those buildings, like the Coliseum or Angkor Wat need the collaboration of a number of players and will significantly reward participants after completion.
• New Ages and Units: The game won’t stop in the High middle Age. More Ages will follow, up to present and future times. Along with it, newer and more evolved military units will become available.
• PvP-elements: Battling your neighbors will become even more satisfying, with evil action features and reward bonuses. Support options allow you to help friends in dire need.
• Research: The research tree will provide a lot more options in the future, containing a number of helpful perks.
• Trade: In order to gain access to rare items, Blueprints and other powerful objects, trade between players will be essential to success.
• Additions to the battlefield: Strategic battles will become even more exciting, with additional tactical options to turn the tides of war and return from the battlefield victorious.
You see, we have a lot of things planned for the future. And during the Exclusive Preview and the Closed Beta, you will not only be able to help us reach those goals, if you have features you would like to see realized, tell us so!

Seriously? I’ve not noticed this in the past with English betas, like with Grepolis open beta. Instead, the German version is way ahead of the English version, so feedback is ignored from English players (except for making it play correctly/like the German version). Are you saying it’s going to be different this time around?
Do you intend to release the English Closed Beta version of the game simultaneously with the German Closed Beta version ? And will subsequent releases be the same?
Hi Jack, with Forge of Enmpires it works a bit different. We have English as the first language of the Closed Beta, German and French will follow shortly afterwards.

I am so liking this game . This Game PvP Looks awesome not like other Simple Browser games. And i like the Friend Helping/trading Part a nice idea!! Hoping To play this game soon :D
Will you have long-range attack units on the game or are there going to be just close combat units only. I’ve played the Age of Empire series, and the Civilization series I thru V, and have seen how long-range attack units can unbalance the game, Unless a counter unit is offered .
I’ve not received a key so I don’t know what is in the game let, If this is covered all real, I check the blog again,

Hi Gray, yes there will be different long range units like slingers, and archers. All in all Forge of Empires has 25 different units with unique skills.
When we can expect game to start? I’v been playing tribal wars and the west for years, cant wit to see whats next you guys prepared for us
I’m a big fan of grepolis, can you you attack by sea in Forge of Empires, can you upgrade buildings?
Is it already known when the game is being opened for everyone?
Or is it still waiting for the mail ;)

I would love to try the game out and everytime you put the new keys up on the facebook site saying the first 50 uses get in…only 5 or so get it and the rest of us who might have school or something cannot get to this in time since it lasts 3 minutes then its up for some reason.
Plz fix this.

hello, i started tribalwars on world 1 under the name of arcwand and did play the beta version of tribalwars when i was very young and a noob… can i just asked when this will be available to every one and not a certain amount of people.
I have to say that the games looks just awesome, and in my opinion it’s gonna’ be one of the best browser games out there. I’ve shown the screenshots to many of my friends and they are all excited about it, and can’t wait for the release date.
As I see the game will be multilingual so I’d like to offer my help translating the game (including site, etc.) in Bulgarian. If you are interested please contact me via my email (if you can’t see it, I’ll post a reply).

I am certainly chomping at the bit for this game to get started. I have already Pre-Registered but nothing so far has come up. And I can’t believe that finally we will be able to play a game like this in SINGLE PLAYER VERSION!!! That is great!!! as far as I am concerned. Leave it to InnoGames to make a single player version. They listen to what thier game players are saying and requesting.
